At Sacramento Spine & Physical Therapy, we have the most advanced and established aquatic therapy program in the region. For patients who are in pain and are weakened due to an injury or disability, aquatic therapy offers the perfect solution. The natural buoyancy of water reduces the stress on the body and helps patients exercise easier with less pain. Plus, the natural pressure of water reduces joint and soft-tissue swelling and provides enough resistance to strengthen muscle.
Aquatic therapy is available seasonally at our Folsom location.
Sacramento Spine & Physical Therapy has Certified Vestibular Rehab physical therapists (AMSI Cert. VRS Practitioners) who provide specialized treatment for dizziness and balance dysfunction.
Vestibular is the medical term for the inner ear. It is a key source of signals regulating balance. These signals travel from the inner ear to the brain and then out to the muscles and joints that control your physical movements.
Signals from other parts of the brain as well as from eyes, muscles and joints also contribute to balance. These signals all converge in the brain stem where they are sorted out and mobilized as instructions that travel along motor-nerve fibers ending in your muscles. The muscles enable your head and neck, eyes, legs and the rest of your body to move in such a way that you maintain balance and a clear vision while you are moving.
With over 25 years of experience serving patients we have developed a Joint Replacement Program to offer knee and hip patients the best chance of long-term success. The goal of the joint replacement program is to restore function, mobility, minimize pain and facilitate a return to normal activities. Comprehensive care begins before surgery and involves three phases.
Three Phases Available for Joint Replacement Patients:
At Sacramento Spine & Physical Therapy, we understand that rehabilitation from a sports-related injury requires unique tactics specific to the sport as much as to the injury. Our licensed physical therapists are experienced in sports medicine and often confer with our Trainers and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialists to work together to develop a sport-specific program.
The sports rehab programs can help an athlete at any age or level, from middle school and youth sports programs to semi-professional and professional leagues. Our highly qualified staff are educated in functionally based exercises as well as the athlete development component necessary to progress an athlete from injury through recovery and back to normal function for a safe return to play.
